Project Design and development of stairlift components, engineered to meet the latest international safety regulations and required user comfort requirements. Responsibilities During this project in the stairlift industry, I was responsible for making concept choices and managing the technical aspects throughout product development.   Inspiro Product Demo Casing [cl_column width="2/3"][cl_column width="1/3" col_sticky="1"] Client Inspiro supports multiple clients as a partner in Embedded Systems & IoT Project For a new technical product idea a complete demonstration setup was required, which included design of the casings, demo setup and transportation suitcase. Note. As the product is still in development I am not allowed to share detailed information. Responsibilities During this project my role was focused on the design and engineering aspects. I proposed design directions and options to the development team. After design investigations, we decided the desired directions. When the total concept was determined, we checked the design with 3D printed parts.   Estendia Upcycling Products [cl_column width="2/3"][cl_column width="1/3" col_sticky="1"] Client Together with a compagnon we started Estendia V.O.F.  Estendia develops and sells sustainable products with a unique story. Project A large leftover of 200.000 tent poles is used for our first product range. The Estendia Cube floorlamp is available in different heights and can be customized with different wrappers.   Secure Bike Grip [cl_column width="2/3"][cl_column width="1/3" col_sticky="1"] Client Widek is one of the few manufacturers of bicycle parts and accessories that still produces more than 90% of its products in-house, in the Netherlands. Project Research into the possibilities for a new secure bike grip from both a design and a mechanical perspective. Responsibilities As an interim Design Engineer I was responsible for the generation from ideas up to testing of prototypes. Using a structured approach I have analyzed, developed and tested various options for a new secure bike grip.   Secrid Wallet Anti-theft Solution [cl_column width="2/3"][cl_column width="1/3" col_sticky="1"] Client Secrid. Industrial design and fashion come together in their pocket-sized essentials. Made in Holland with great care for quality, people and the environment. A better world starts in your pocket. Project To prevent theft of Secrid wallets in physical stores, Secrid wants to protect their wallets. Because the current anti-theft tools available do not fit well with the aesthetics and brand style, a custom anti-theft solution had to be developed. Note. Responsibilities As interim Product Engineer  I worked together with a project team on the idea and concept generation of the (un)blocking mechanism. After choosing the concept direction, we detailed and engineered the design. We have made production tools and prototypes to test the solution in the Secrid Brandstore.   IN-LITE Products [cl_column width="2/3"][cl_column width="1/3" col_sticky="1"] Client IN-LITE is a young Dutch company that develops, produces and sells leading LED outdoor lighting. Projects To expand their product portfolio and reach new markets, IN-LITE asked me for technical support on multiple projects. Together with the team, we have developed several new accessories and new outdoor lighting products. Note. As the products are still in development I am not allowed to share detailed information. Responsibilities The projects were carried out on a project basis from my own office. During these projects I was responsible for development of the first ideas into feasible concepts and convincing prototypes. The general challenge in the projects was the combination of design and engineering. The developed lighting must be aesthetically pleasing and provide a beautiful light image, but must also be of high quality and easy to produce.
